Band parents it is crunch time!

We still have a large amount of cash bash tickets left and sadly I had to turn 30 back into the Cash Bash organizers because other organizations had sold all of their tickets and needed more. I will attend another Cash Bash meeting next week to turn in stubs and money for those we have sold. Hopefully I will not have to turn in more of our tickets.

Remember this is the big fundraiser to raise money for the Band Boosters to help with all we do for our kids in Band.

I will have the tickets at the booster meeting Monday night, 2/5/18. If you are unable to attend the meeting and need tickets please contact me! I will meet you to get them to you. Text me at 724-630-4864 so we can make arrangements.

Cash Bash Information (from the Freedom Cares website):

6th Annual Freedom Cares Cash Bash will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2017
at the St. Elijah Serbian Center located just off of Broadhead Road in Hopewell
Doors Open @ 4:00 PM

Each ticket cost $50.  This includes one 3-digit number
for Cash Bash Prize Drawings (pulled every 5 minutes),
admittance to the Cash Bash, Dinner and Drinks (beer,
water, soft drinks).  All other drinks are B.Y.O.B.

Fundraising

Anderson’s Easter Candy fundraising has begun!  Orders and money are due Feb 28.  Candy will be ready for pickup on March 21st in the lobby of the High School from 3-5 pm. This is an individual fundraising opportunity for you to add to your student account balance.

No late orders accepted. Order forms will be at the Boosters meeting (2/5/18), on the band room door or from Mr James in the Middle School.

 

2 bags of Anderson’s candy bars are still available.   $30 per bag, with $12 going into individual student accounts.  Please text Lori Skrobacz at 724-316-1942 if you are interested!

Congratulations Honors Band and District Band Participants!

Congratulations to Mason Hedge (Percussion) for making it to PMEA District 5 Honors Band! It was held December 5th at Westminster College.

 

Congratulations to Mikayla Evans (Euphonium), Cole Skuse (Trombone) and Haley Velemirovich (Trumpet) for making it to PMEA District 5 Band, which was held on January 12 at Neshannock High School. The concert was live-streamed on FaceBook, as it was moved ahead a day because of the inclimate weather.

Mikayla Evans will be moving on to Regional Band, Feb. 21-23, 2018 at Plum High School.

Reminder : Band Booster Meeting TONIGHT – 12/4/2017

A reminder that there is a Band Booster meeting tonight in the Band Room @ 7.

Cash Bash tickets are available for pick up at the meeting. Parents are the only ones permitted to pick up and sell tickets.

Also, Carol-Lynn Dubovi will have photos for the senior scrapbooks, and Patty Colorito set up a Google photo account for us to download and share photos from any of the 5 years the Seniors have been in Band. So if you have any senior band photos from any of the years our children have been in band, please feel free to upload, download and share. The account is Seniorbandscrapbook@gmail  , Password is freedom*bulldogs  .

One final note to the senior parents: David McKenna is working on the band video for this year and is in need of a baby photos for the senior section. He will be sending out an email to them asking for one, but I just wanted to get the word out there.

 

Reminder: Yard Sale – THIS WEEK! and Candy/Candle Orders

Yard Sale

Hope you are almost set and ready to sell for Saturday!!
Just wanted to point out a few things….
-We will be at school Friday from 6PM to 9PM in the High School Cafeteria.  This is the time where you can bring and unpack your stuff.  Please make sure they’re tagged with your # that was assigned to you along with your own price.  But if you are unable to make it Friday evening, we will be at the school Saturday 8 AM where you can also then come in…but please have everything all in/setup by 8:30 AM Saturday.
-Baked goods can be brought in Friday evening if you are not able to come in Saturday.  Make sure you have your # and prices on them if you want to earn your profits.
-Just a friendly reminder:  Nothing is less than .25 cents.
NOTE: There is a mistake on the guidelines – if you bring in baked goods, 100% profit goes to your student accounts, not the boosters.
–Lastly – I will need a few more volunteers to help Saturday.  If you are able to, that’d be greatly appreciated!!  I also need some students who can come and help with giving out the bags & guiding people to where to go when they come in.

All Anderson’s Candy and Yankee Candle orders are due on TUESDAY, November 21st (by the end of the school day) in the Band Room mailboxes (HS & MS). All profits earned will go into individual student accounts. If you need an order form, they can be found in the Band Room door pocket.

Week #12 – Veteran’s Day Parade – Saturday

Veteran’s Day Parade – Beaver, PA  11/11/2017

  • Arrive : 8:30 am
  • Block : 8:50 am
  • Leave : 9:00 am
  • Arrive in Beaver :  9:20 am

Remember to dress warm in layers (and make sure they don’t show outside of your uniform), as it will be cold.

Friday Night Football vs. Washington (Away) – Playoffs

  • Arrive at School by : 4:45 pm
  • Block Band : 5:10 pm
  • Leave School : 5:15 pm
  • Arrive: 6:40 pm

Next Boosters Meeting will be on November 6th at 7:00 pm. – Senior scrapbooks will be handed out to Senior parents.

New Band Parents are strongly encouraged to attend to learn how our organization works and to find out about events that are coming up that are new to you! It is the perfect time for you to ask questions and we would love for you to join us.

Senior Scrapbooks (Senior Parents!)

Scrapbooks and a few supplies will be handed out to all Senior parents at the November 6th Booster Meeting (7:00 pm). Completed scrapbooks will be handed out at the Band Banquet (February 17, 2108). Please plan to attend the meeting for more information and to receive your items!

Reminders for Tonight – Senior Night / Football vs. North Catholic – October 27th

Friday Night Football vs. North Catholic – Senior Night (Home)

Senior Pizza Dinner at Napoli’s Pizza : 3:30 pm.

Seniors – make sure you bring your photo order form tonight if you would like to order photos from Mary White!

Band Members: Please remember to go to the Middle School to get dressed tonight, not the High School (due to the Haunted High School event tonight).

  • Arrive at Middle School by : 6:00 pm
  • Block Band : 6:20 pm
  • Middle School : 6:45 pm
  • Pregame : 7:00 pm SHARP!

All Senior Parents (including others walking with Senior) should report to the Middle School lobby at 6:15 for flowers, and then to the Middle School side of the track at 6:30 pm for program set up.
